Eden Evans Original paintings

Eden Evans’ early artistic skill was nurtured at Pembroke School and, in one of his first jobs at Manor House Wildlife Park, he drew and painted the birds of prey in his care, including his own kestrel. During the next few years Eden moved several times before returning to Pembrokeshire and settled in Penally, Eden starting part-time work in the ambulance service. As a member of Pembroke Arts Club Eden exhibited at various local venues and he won the Three Counties Arts Festival with a painting of rusting trawlers at Pembroke Dock, a subject still typical of his work today. He believes that painting is all about learning to ‘see’ and that one way to achieve this is to work en plein air, constantly drawing from life not from photographs. With drawing being Eden’s first and main love and light being the main inspiration, he is more interested in achieving accurate tonal quality than being a colourist.Eden joined the SAA (The Society for All Artists) winning numerous awards in their international competitions, culminating in being awarded a lifetime fellowship of the society. His paintings have been shown at many galleries in the county and in Swansea, Bristol, and London. Recognised for his talent and selected for exhibition by the Royal Society of Marine Artists, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour and by the New English Art Club, Eden is Pembrokeshire’s best kept secret.
