About the Gallery
The Gallery is a family run independent commercial Gallery selling Welsh Art and sculpture. Most of our artists are based in Wales and their main focus and inspiration is the Pembrokeshire Coast and its wildlife. Alongside these fabulous works we also show paintings and prints by many well known 20th Century artists such as Graham Sutherland and Sir Kyffin Williams as well as a few other pieces that don’t necessarily relate to our landscape but that will certainly catch your eye for their quality.
Being in Porthgain, a small harbour village as far west in Wales as you can go has its challenges, but that’s what’s made our Gallery what it is. Thankfully artists from all over the UK are drawn to the coast here and so we have such a diverse selection of artists to work with. Our Gallery is unique in Pembrokeshire, you will not find these artists in other Galleries and we strive to show and eclectic mix of styles, mediums and prices.
We don’t run exhibitions, or one man shows, our Gallery is an ever changing exhibition with works by over 40 artists, constantly changing. Work is in and out every week here and the space changes as the artwork does. As soon as its sold its off the wall and something new in its place.
2020 a very different year as you know, and we took the opportunity to make some changes to the Gallery that we’ve wanted to do for a while. Change is good and we’ve come out the other side refreshed with a better space and system to enhance the Gallery experience. Appointments are available 7 days a week to view the Gallery, one group at a time. This allows you a private view and someone on hand to answer all your questions. Use our website as your shop window, get an idea of which artists you like and if there are any particular works you’d like to see in the flesh when you visit let us know and we will make sure its on the wall ready for you to view.
We are no longer letting in streams of people ( believe me, although we are in the middle of nowhere, it gets busy here! and at times in the past we’ve had 10- 15 people in our small space, and that’s just not the way we want you to experience the Gallery anymore) you should come into a calm space, with lots of room to step back and enjoy the works on display, and feel comfortable to ask any questions you may have. You may just pop in for a browse, take in all the beautiful work and leave for the next person to come in, and that’s absolutely fine, we want people to come and enjoy what we have to show! That’s why we are here. If you come in looking for something in particular, you need a bit of time to have a good look around, see more work by a certain artists, discuss framing, payment, delivery options that’s fine too we want to be able to have the time to go through all of this with you as well.
We will be continuing with the one household system as its working for our Gallery to give each person and group who visits the attention they deserve and because the feedback from our customers so far about their Gallery experience is so positive.
Online sales have been fantastic this year, and we have sent paintings all over the UK. Free delivery on all Originals within the UK will always be available, and we can do our best to work out the best day to get it to you with one of our couriers. If you ever have any questions about any of the works online, please don’t hesitate to contact us .
We are now also offering two different Interest free payment schemes. Collectorplan for paintings between £100 – £5,000 by living artists, run by the Arts council of Wales, and another scheme which is available on all paintings over £5,000 and by deceased artists up to a maximum of £25,000.
